“It’s a blessing to know who you are and where you come from.”

It’s a blessing to know who you are and where you come from. I was blessed to know all of my grandparents and three out of four of my great grandparents. I had meals with all of them and they shared things they saw and things they hoped for. I hope I am at least a sliver of their dreams. I hope my work and the way I live does honor to their memories and brings smiles to those gone but still rooting for us from on high. I pray that when it is our time to pass the batons of life, we have lived so well that our blueprint for justice, humanity and righteousness allows our children’s children’s children to step with alacrity into their purpose.

In this issue of SVM, we remember 2020. It was a tough year. We saw one of the worst global pandemics in history and the largest civil unrest in our nation’s history. We closed the year with an election and the people elected a new President of the United States – Joe Biden – and the first woman in history – Kamala Harris – to be his Vice President. The outcome caused people to dance in the streets all over the world. Looking back, I’m glad we made it through 2020, and I am excited that we have the opportunity to go forward with leaders who are kind. In this issue of SVM, we review 2020 and highlight the best of SoulVision Magazine. Stay safe, happy holidays and see you next year!
